Description
#1266 – Epidote from the Raywoo Mine, Quatta, Balochistan, Pakistan.ย A 2.13 x 1.6 x 1 – inch specimen of dark green Epidote with smaller crystals occurring on main crystal.ย Epidote in the Quetta area, Pakistan, originated fromย hydrothermal alterationย of igneous rocks, likely within a skarn or metasomatic environment, or throughย regional metamorphism of existing mafic rocks. Specific findings point to epidote forming in veins within igneous rocks, like dolerite dykes or a weathered igneous-skarn deposit and also being associated with metamorphic processes during tectonic activity.ย
