Malosa, Malawi,ย formed inย alkaline (peralkaline) pegmatitesย andย nepheline syenitesย within the Zomba-Malosa igneous complex. This geological environment is part of the larger Chilwa Alkaline Province, which formed due to Mesozoic igneous intrusions into ancient crystalline basement rock during the rifting of the supercontinent Gondwana.ย
