Description

#3147 – A mineral specimen featuring two penetrating green Fluorite cubes up 2.25 inches 0n edge from the El Hammam mine in Meknes, Morocco.  The specimen also fluoresces light blue under UV light.  The overall dimension of this mineral specimen is 4 x 2.67 x 2.25 inches. 

Fluorite from the El Hammam Mine in Morocco originated from a multi-phase hydrothermal system associated with a magmatic complex, a process linked to the opening of the Central Atlantic Ocean. Hot, fluorine-rich fluids circulated through the regional fault and fracture systems, reacting with host rocks like limestones and other sedimentary and volcanic rocks to deposit fluorite in veins, a process that occurred in several stages between the late Triassic and other times.
