Description
#3199 A 3.1 x 2.3 x 1.8-inch specimen of light blue Aquamarine Beryl and gray Muscovite on a matrix of white/gray Albite. The Aquamarine barrel shaped hexagonal crystal is .65 inches tall. Muscovite blades are up to .7 inches in width. A top shelf specimen for any collection. Aquamarine, muscovite, and albite from Nagar, Pakistan, originated from a granitic pegmatite intrusion that experienced fractional crystallization and hydrothermal activity. This process caused elements to separate and concentrate, leading to the formation of zoned pegmatites with miarolitic cavities. During the final stages of cooling, hydrothermal fluids rich in volatiles and specific elements like beryllium interacted with the rock, promoting the crystallization of aquamarine (a variety of beryl), muscovite (a type of mica), and albite (a feldspar) within these cavities.
