#790 – A 2.1 x 1.75 x 1.6 -inch mineral specimen with orange-brown Vanadinite crystals perched on a tan Barite matrix.  This specimen is from the JC Holme mine, Temporal Gulch, Patagonia, Arizona.  Vanadinite from the J.C. Holmes Mine in Patagonia, Arizona, is a secondary mineral that formed through the oxidation of vanadium-bearing lead deposits. It occurs in the oxidized zones of the lead-zinc deposit, often found with other minerals like wulfenite and lead carbonate, within both the porphyry country rock and fracture fillings in quartz veins.
