Description

#3044   A 3.6 x 3.2 x 2.8-inch specimen of lite green Prehnite with dark green Epidote.  Prehnite exhibits bowtie crystal form on parts of the specimen.  A truly beautiful specimen from the recent find in Morocco.  Prehnite with epidote from Boulemane, Morocco, forms in volcanic and metamorphic settings through hydrothermal processes. The minerals precipitate in cavities and fractures of rocks, likely from circulating fluids during low to medium-grade metamorphism or in fault zones.
