Description

#3204 – A 3.42 x 2.44 x 2.2-inch specimen of white frosty Calcite on pinkish tan Dolomite from Somerset, Kentucky.  The Calcite crystal is 2 inches in size and fluoresces a bright white under UV light.  The calcite crystals found on a dolomite matrix in Somerset, Kentucky, typically form as secondary mineral deposits within geodes or veins, resulting from the precipitation of minerals from mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids that migrated through existing Paleozoic carbonate rocks.
