Description
#1811 – A 2.36 x 1.57 x 1 -inch Fluorite specimen from the Purple Rain Pocket of the Lady Annabella Mine in Weardale, England.ย This mineral specimen features purple/green Fluorite cubes up to 1 inch in size.ย The specimen also fluoresces bright purple.ย The fluorite at the Lady Annabella Mine originated fromย hydrothermal fluids circulating through fractures in the Great Limestone during theย Devonian era, likely influenced by a nearby granite intrusion. These hot, mineral-rich brines moved upward through the existing fault systems, including the splay shear that hosts the mine, causing minerals like fluorite to precipitate and crystallize in the resulting cavities and breccias as temperature and pressure conditions changed.
