Description

#2811 – A 1.93 x 1.1 x .9 -inch specimen of light green Cuprian Adamite on a brown Goethite/Limonite matrix.  This adamite in this specimen fluoresces green.  This copper rich Adamite specimen was mined around 2008 from Mina Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico.  Cuprian Adamite from the Ojuela Mine in Mapimi, Durango, Mexico, formed as a secondary mineral within the oxidized zone (gossan) of a complex hydrothermal polymetallic ore deposit. The green color is due to the inclusion of trace amounts of copper.
