#2818 – A 1.97 x 1.2 x .87 -inch mineral specimen of light green copper rich Cuprian Adamite in two cavities on a brown Limonite/Goethite matrix. This specimen was collected around 2008 from the Mina Ojuela Mine in Mapimi, Mexico. The specimen fluoresces a lite green color. Cuprian Adamite from the Ojuela Mine in Mapimi, Durango, Mexico, formed as a secondary mineral within the oxidized zone (gossan) of a complex hydrothermal polymetallic ore deposit. The green color is due to the inclusion of trace amounts of copper.
