Description
#3198 A root beer colored Quartz plate measuring 5.5 x 4.7 x 1.5 in. Brown to reddish quartz crystals with a very light dusting of Barite. The underside of the specimen has light tan colored lace agate. This specimen is from the Haunted Ridge Mine near Cadet, Washington County, Missouri. The druzy quartz, agate, and barite deposits in the Potosi, Missouri area formed through a process of hydrothermal mineralization and subsequent chemical weathering within the Cambrian-age Potosi and Eminence dolomite bedrock.
