Description
#3124 – A 2.1 x 1.3 x .7 -inch specimen of pink Tourmaline in white Albite from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The geological origin of pink tourmaline and albite in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is attributed to the formation of granitic pegmatites. These pegmatites are associated with the crystallization of tourmaline and albite from magmatic and hydrothermal fluids. The tourmaline crystals exhibit a wide range of colors, including red, blue, green, and multicolored varieties, which are a result of the complex zoning and evolution of the host pegmatite.
