#2792 – 1.8 x 1 x .95-inch Native Silver specimen From Bouisimas Mine, Tansifte Caidat Agdz Cercle, Draa Tafilalet Province, Morocco. The Silver crystals occur with minor white Calcite. This specimen is exquisite in form and has a very silver metallic luster.  An excellent collector piece for your mineral cabinet. Native silver from the Bouismas Mine in Morocco originated from hydrothermal processes that remobilized pre-existing mineral concentrations in Proterozoic rocks. Silver precipitated out of hot, mineral-rich fluids that flowed through faults and veins, often forming in cavities within calcite. These fluids deposited silver in its pure, native form, which sometimes replaced minerals like dyscrasite, resulting in the characteristic “dendritic” or tree-like branching crystal structures seen in specimens from the mine.
