Description
#1533 – A 2.05 x 1.15 x .79 -inch mineral specimen of four green Prehnite balls from Bendoukou in the Kayes Region of Mali. Prehnite from the Kayes Region, Mali, originates from low-grade metamorphic processes within the region’s mafic volcanic rocks, where it forms in veins and cavities alongside epidote. The mineral is a calcium aluminum silicate that results from hydrothermal alteration, commonly associated with zeolites, and is prized by collectors for its association with the dark, often prismatic epidote crystals.
