Description
#3072 – A slab-mount specimen of a 1.26 x .75 x .6 -inch clear Quartz crystal from the Ron Coleman Mine, Jessieville, Garland County, Arkansas. The quartz at the Ron Coleman Mine originated from hydrothermal activity during the formation of the Ouachita Mountains between 280 and 245 million years ago. Hot, mineral-rich water flowed through fissures, depositing silica that cooled and crystallized into the quartz veins found today. These veins are part of the area’s “quartz belt,” a large formation stretching from Eastern Oklahoma to central Arkansas.
