#3111 – A 3.5 x 1.5 x .7-inch specimen of black Tourmaline from Minas Gerais, Brazil.  A large black Tourmaline specimen for the price.  Black tourmaline (schorl) from Minas Gerais, Brazil, is primarily formed within complex granitic pegmatites. These pegmatites are the result of the extreme slow cooling and crystallization of residual, mineral-rich (specifically boron-rich) fluids that are given off during the final stages of the cooling of a granitic magma intrusion.
